Education system should be reformed.....

Today’s education system needs to be reformed. Firstly, I would like to specify some points on which I will focus mainly today. My first focus will be on education institutes are becoming business institutes and second focus will be on providing the right education to students and focusing on practical knowledge rather than theoretical knowledge.

Let us first start with the first topic. Today’s education system is more like a business or a money earning machine. Schools and colleges focus mainly on earning more and more money rather than giving the right education to their students. Every businessman today finds opening a college or school is the best way of earning more money in less time. This thinking needs to be changed. Students are not just a way of earning money, schools and colleges should provide education and knowledge so that they can build their future and gain something in their lives. Our youngsters have the capability to prove themselves in every field, only there is a need for right guidance. In the lack of this guidance, youngsters deviate from their paths. 

Today education should be student-centered, which focuses on the need of students, rather than those involved in the educational process such as teachers. Student-centered learning, that is, putting the student’s needs first, is contrasted to teacher-centered learning. It focuses on each student’s needs, abilities, interests and learning style. 

In my view, some points need to be considered which can surely help reform our education system:

• First, consider the requirement of a student, so that he could get a good job and a good college in his future.

• Practical knowledge should be made compulsory.

• English and Hindi, both should be taught at equal level.

• Subjects like Mathematics should be taught analytically.

• Computer knowledge should be made compulsory from elementary level in every school.

• Co-curricular activities should be given equal importance.

Other than high class private schools, Government schools should also provide these facilities so that medium class families can afford this education system.

Some things that are needed to be added in today’s education system is sex education, self defense for girls, women should be respected not abused or used, human values, helping a person in need etc. So that youngsters must become a good citizen in their future. 

There is a need for drastic reform in today’s education system. Educational institutes should emphasize more on education, than money. If right education is provided to every youngster in our country, then only we will be able to see a changed scenario of our country in the next few years.
